Overview
This Privacy Policy explains how Monetyze Technologies Pvt Ltd ("Monetyze", "we", "us", "our"), the owner and operator of JothidaKural (the "Platform", at www.jothidakural.com and our applications), collects, uses, shares, and protects personal data. We are committed to handling your data in accordance with the Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023 ("DPDP Act") and other applicable Indian laws.
By using the Platform, you agree to this Privacy Policy. If you do not agree, please do not use the Platform.
1. Who this policy applies to
The Platform is used by two types of people, and we collect data from both:
- Astrologers ("Practitioners") who create an account to manage their consultation services, availability, bookings, and payments.
- Clients who book and pay for consultations through a Practitioner's booking page.
Where this policy says "you", it means whichever of the above applies to you.
2. What data we collect
2.1 Information Practitioners provide
- Identity and contact details: name, email, phone number, profile photograph, languages, and areas of specialisation.
- Business and payment details: consultation types, pricing, availability, and bank account or UPI settlement details provided to our payment partner.
- Any content you add to your public profile or booking page.
2.2 Information Clients provide
- Contact details: name, phone number, and email used to make a booking.
- Booking details: the consultation type, date, time, and any notes or questions you submit.
- Information you choose to share for a consultation, which may include your date, time, and place of birth and personal questions. You decide what to share. Please share only what is necessary.
2.3 Payment information
Payments are processed by our third-party payment partner (currently Razorpay). Card numbers, UPI credentials, and banking authentication details are collected and processed directly by the payment partner under their own security standards. We do not store full card or UPI credential details on our systems.
2.4 Information collected automatically
- Device and connection data: IP address, browser type, device identifiers, and operating system.
- Usage data: pages viewed, actions taken, and timestamps.
- Cookies and similar technologies (see Section 8).
3. How we use your data
We use personal data to:
- Create and manage Practitioner accounts and public booking pages.
- Enable Clients to book consultations and make payments.
- Send booking confirmations, reminders, receipts, and service-related communications.
- Process payments and settlements through our payment partner.
- Provide customer support and respond to queries.
- Operate, maintain, secure, and improve the Platform.
- Detect and prevent fraud, abuse, and security incidents.
- Comply with legal obligations.
We rely on your consent as the primary legal basis for processing under the DPDP Act, and on other lawful grounds where applicable (such as performing our contract with you or meeting a legal requirement). You may withdraw consent at any time (see Section 6); withdrawal does not affect processing already carried out.
4. How we share your data
We do not sell your personal data. We share it only as described here:
4.1 Between Practitioners and Clients
When a Client books a consultation, the relevant booking and contact details are shared with the Practitioner so the consultation can take place, and the Practitioner's public profile details are shown to the Client. The Practitioner is an independent data fiduciary in respect of the Client data they receive and is responsible for handling it lawfully.
4.2 Service providers and processors
We share data with trusted third parties who help us run the Platform, under contractual confidentiality and security obligations. These currently include:
- Razorpay — payment processing and settlement. [Confirm.]

4.3 Legal and safety
We may disclose data where required by law, court order, or a lawful request from a government authority, or where necessary to protect our rights, users, or the public.
4.4 Business transfers
If Monetyze is involved in a merger, acquisition, or sale of assets, data may be transferred as part of that transaction, subject to this policy.
5. Data retention
We retain personal data only for as long as necessary for the purposes set out in this policy, or as required by law (for example, tax and financial records). Typical retention periods are [specify, e.g., account data for the life of the account plus X months; transaction records for [Y] years as required under Indian tax law]. When data is no longer required, we delete or anonymise it.
6. Your rights under the DPDP Act
Subject to the conditions in the law, you have the right to:
- Access a summary of the personal data we process about you.
- Request correction, completion, or updating of inaccurate data.
- Request erasure of your personal data.
- Withdraw consent previously given.
- Nominate another person to exercise your rights in the event of death or incapacity.
- Grievance redressal (see Section 11).

7. Data security
We use reasonable technical and organisational measures to protect personal data, including encryption in transit, access controls, and secure hosting. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security. If we become aware of a personal data breach, we will follow the notification requirements under applicable law.
8. Cookies and tracking
We use cookies and similar technologies to keep you signed in, remember preferences, and understand how the Platform is used. You can control cookies through your browser settings; disabling some cookies may affect Platform functionality.
9. Children
The Platform is intended for users aged 18 and above. We do not knowingly create accounts for or knowingly collect data from children except in accordance with the DPDP Act, which requires verifiable parental or guardian consent for processing a child's data. If you believe a child's data has been collected without proper consent, contact us at hello@jothidakural.com and we will take appropriate action.
10. Transfers outside India
Some of our service providers may store or process data on servers located outside India. Where this happens, we take steps to ensure your data continues to be protected in line with this policy and applicable law, and only transfer to jurisdictions permitted under the DPDP Act and any government notifications.

12. Changes to this policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will post the updated version on this page with a revised "Last updated" date and, where appropriate, notify you. Continued use of the Platform after changes take effect means you accept the updated policy.
